Along the waterways:
Cassano d'Adda, Crespi d'Adda, Milan and Lecco
The Lombardy Region offers a wealth of both natural and artificial waterways that represent the main axes of the regional cycling network. The theme of water takes on a central role and revolves around the Naviglio Martesana, said to have been designed by Leonardo Da Vinci and built in just a few years at the end of the 15th century by Francesco Sforza. Today this artificial canal is still fully efficient, mainly serving irrigation purposes. Cassano d’Adda will therefore be the starting and ending point for all cycling tours that have water as their common thread.
Discover Cassano d'Adda
Cassano d'Adda is a real treasure to explore. The purpose of this cycling tour is to bring to light the reasons for the "excellence" of a little-known and underappreciated city. Here, nothing is missing: art, architecture, history, nature, and waterways. The cycling tour will follow a circular route, starting at B&B Casa Sara. Next, you will reach two of the most iconic and majestic architectural monuments: the Villa Borromeo and the Visconti Castle. The tour will continue with a stop at the Isola Borromeo Public Park, where adults and children can relax and play while enjoying the spectacular view offered by the Adda River. Finally, the tour will conclude with a visit to the "Rudun", the great hydraulic wheel designed by Leonardo da Vinci.

Discover Crespi d'Adda
This particular cycle tourism tour, starting from Cassano d'Adda, will lead you to the splendid Crespi d'Adda. Crespi d'Adda is the extraordinary story of a true ideal city of labor, a small fiefdom where the owner's castle was a symbol of both authority and benevolence towards the workers and their families. Crespi d'Adda is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, an exceptional piece of history that is not just a monument: Crespi is an inhabited UNESCO site! Even today, all the houses in the Village are inhabited by a community still mostly made up of descendants of the original workers of the historic textile factory. The tour will lead you to the iconic entrance of the Crespi d'Adda cotton mill, passing through the streets of the workers' village, dotted with charming terraced houses and imposing villas once inhabited by workers and managers, up to the majestic cemetery.

Cassano d'Adda - Milan
The route follows the cycle path of theNaviglio Martesana, starting from Cassano d’Adda, arriving in Milan in Piazza del Duomo and returning to Cassano d’Adda along the same route. The itinerary offers the opportunity to discover the most significant tourist sites in Milan, without neglecting the scenic beauty along the Naviglio Martesana, consisting of parks, historic villas, and ancient centers of significant beauty. It is exciting to experience the slow but progressive transition from a scarcely urbanized environment where the Naviglio is predominant compared to the surrounding buildings, to a highly urbanized environment, typical of a metropolitan city.

Cassano d'Adda - Lecco
The itinerary follows the cycle path of theNaviglio Martesana and the Adda cycle route, starting from Cassano d’Adda, arriving at Lecco on the shores of Lake Como and returning to Cassano d’Adda along the same route. The route is reserved for those tourists who love to cycle in contact with nature, in an environment immersed in the silence and the rustling of the waters, among the lights and shadows of the riverside vegetation, without neglecting the architectural and industrial archaeology surprises and the constant presence of the genius of Leonardo Da Vinci. Continuing towards the locality of Concesa, there is the hydraulic barrier that gives life to the Naviglio Martesana; in this locality it is possible, via a pedestrian walkway, to cross the Adda and reach the Workers’ Village of Crespi d’Adda, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
B&B Casa Sara offers its guests a well-equipped BICYCLE PARK.
